5-HTP 100 mg
5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is an intermediate in the conversion of tryptophan to serotonin, which in turn becomes melatonin. Serotonin is an important neurotransmitter associated with the regulation of sleep cycles, mood, and appetite. Supplementing with 5-HTP directly allows the body to bypass the rate-limiting step in the synthesis of serotonin. Recent studies suggest 5-HTP supplementation may impact short-term sleep quality in populations experiencing poor sleep. * References Maffei ME. 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP): Natural Occurrence, Analysis, Biosynthesis, Biotechnology, Physiology and Toxicology.
