RARE 1910s Khaki Womens Riding Habit Divideded Skirt / Sportswear Jumpsuit
Manifested this ultra rare and obscenely special garment at the very tail end of the year. If you have been around for the past few years this piece will look quite similar to one I had in 2022. This is piece dates to around 1915-1917 from what research I could dig up; and is a true and rare example of women's fashion history, but more importantly early women's bifurcated sportswear. This is given the name 'riding habit' and would have been worn for horseback riding or even bicycling, but it also could very well have been used for land chores and hiking. In the 1890s bifurcated skirts for women were introduced, but unless it was for sportswear attire, the divided skirt was still very much a novelty, even in the 1910s. This garment in particular is a rare and unique example and blend of early women's bifurcated clothing and an all in one overall suit.
