This is an original 1721 black and white copper engraving of "Ferdinando II, Grosshertzog von Florentz." This is a portrait of Ferdinando II de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany. He was the son of Cosimo II de' Medici and Maria Maddalena of Austria. Casimo II's 49 year rule was punctuated by the termination of the remaining operations of the Medici Bank and the beginning of Tuscany's long economic decline.
