This is an original 1722 black and white copper engraving of "Wolff Freÿherr von Eggenberg," an Austrian military officer and Freiherr in the Habsburg Empire. Von Eggenberg received the rank of General-Obrist, taking command of Imperial Forces on the border of present-day Croatia. The portrait is surrounded by a wonderful decorative motif featuring a stylized lion at the bottom of the print as well as a laurel-leaf crown at the top of the print. This piece is accompanied by the original German biographical text printed on a separate sheet and featuring a decorative drop cap, vignette and head-and tail-pieces.CONDITIONThis 289+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine.
