This is an original 1889 black and white wood engraving of "Datur Hora Quieti" which is the title of a poem by Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832). It begins with "The sun on the lake is low." The artwork in this print was originally created by Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851) who was a Romantic landscape painter, watercolorist, and printmaker. He was born in England and is known as "the painter of light."
