This is an ultra-rare original 1893 rear color cover from the Chicago "The Inter Ocean" supplement showing the Brazil Building, the Fisheries Building and the Illinois State Building. The Fisheries Building offered large aquariums filled with hundreds of species of fish, and was situated between the lagoon and Lake Michigan. The Illinois State Building was designed by architect W. W. Boyington, and cost around $250,000 to construct. The dome was two hundred feet high, and the building was four hundred and fifty feet long. Period Paper has obtained arguably one of the most rare, exclusive collections of original color images of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair (The World's Columbian Exposition).
