This is an ultra-rare original 1893 color cover from the Chicago "The Inter Ocean" Illustrated Supplement depicting the Illinois Building. The structure was designed by architect W. W. Boyington, and cost around $250,000 to construct. The dome was two hundred feet high, and the building was four hundred and fifty feet long. Please note that this image is torn in half. Because of the rarity of these prints, they are usually sold in the $200-$500 range, but in such condition, we cannot sell it for that price. Note that the tear can be obscured and camouflaged by matting and framing the two pieces together, as apart from the tear, this piece is a wonderful representation of the Illinois Building.
