Palace of Manufactures. This is the southern facade and main south entrance of the Palace of Manufactures which was designed by Messrs. Bliss & Faville of San Francisco. The Panama-Pacific International Exposition was a world's fair held in San Francisco, California between February 20 and December 4 in 1915. Officially, the exposition was a celebration of the completion of the Panama Canal and the discovery of the Pacific Ocean by the Spanish explorer Balboa, but it was also an opportunity to showcase the city's recovery from the 1906 earthquake.
