This is an original 1927 black and white print ad for the Hotel Adlon in Berlin, Germany, under Louis Adlon ownership and Ewald Kretschmar management. The Hotel Adlon was first erected in 1907 by wine merchant and restauranteur Lorenz Adlon. The prestigious resort hosted such guests as Charlie Chaplin, Herbert Hoover, as well served as a international centre for journalists. During World War II, parts of the hotel were converted into a military hospital. Though the original building survived World War I and World War II, a fire, which started in the hotel's wine cellar, destroyed it in 1945. In 1997, the hotel was rebuilt by a German investment firm. Today, it currently serves as the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, which is part of the Kempinski hotel chain. Interesting Fact: It was at the Hotel Adlon that Michael Jackson waved his son Blanket out of the window during his visit to Berlin. CONDITIONThis 84+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine+.
