This is an original 1929 photogravure of an Intha leg-rower on a lake in Burma (Myanmar). The caption underneath the photogravure labels the body of water as the Bailu river; however, based on the location of the Intha people, we are assuming the photograph was instead taken on Inle Lake. The fishermen of the area are known for wrapping one leg around the oar to row. The photographer of this image is Dr. Martin Hürlimann of Berlin, Germany. His photographs were largely composed of cities and civilizations, and taken mostly with a Sinclair camera.
