1940 Print Zamboanga Tropic Mindanao Coconut Groves General Pershing Moros FZ2
This is an original 1940 halftone print of the waterfront in Zamboanga, Mindanao, Philippine Islands. The people here at the time made a living off of the coconut groves of the area. Also close to the site of this image is a plaza named after General Pershing who fought the Moros close by. Photography by Fenno Jacobs. Charles Fenno Jacobs (1904-1974) was born in Waltham, Massachusetts. He had a recognized reputation as a photographer by 1941, and worked for Life Magazine as well as Fortune. He is known for the images he took during World War II as a part of Edward Steichen's Naval Aviation Photographic Unit. CONDITIONThis 71+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine.
