This is an original 1943 photogravure of the ruins of the Temple of Hera, or Heraion, in Olympia, Greece. In the 4th century, an earthquake destroyed the temple. The statue, Hermes of Praxiteles was found in the temple. Photograph by Dr. Martin Hürlimann.
