We sell the Bocking #4 strain of Russian comfrey (Symphytum peregrinum) in either 10 or 20 root cuttings per order. We select the Bocking #4 strain because it contains the highest protein content with the highest biomass yield, making it an important source of protein for livestock.  It is also the most palatable for animals as other strains can be too bitter.  The Bocking #4 strain also has the highest allantoin content, which is the component responsible for the immense skin and bone healing properties.  It is perennial and non-invasive.  It does not spread by seed but it can be propagated by root cuttings.   **Nutrient-Rich**: Russian comfrey is known for its high nutrient content, particularly in potassium, calcium, and other minerals.
