Soft rose purple standards are veined slightly darker and carry heavy ruffling. Violet falls are lighter at edges, sometimes appearing as a rim. Tall and sturdy stalks carry 7 to 9 buds, slight spicy scent. Orange beards provide a pop of color and contrast in the middle of the flower. Very ruffled all over with a touch of lacing to boot. Great flower! Slight spicy fragrance. Grows to 40 inches tall and blooms mid to late season.            Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio.
