EXTRA LONG CHRYSANTHEMUM PILLOW

One of a kind lumbar pillow made from a panel of vintage Japanese kimono fabric. The chrysanthemum pattern is achieved through the katazome technique of paste-resist dyeing. A rice paste is applied to the fabric through a hand cut stencil, katagami, and serves as a resist before the textile is dipped into the dye vat. Once the paste is removed the pattern is revealed.  100% cotton Backed with vintage Japanese indigo  Zipper closure Down/feather insert 33" x 11.5" Gentle wash cold, line dry  Made in Santa Fe, NM All wear, marks or mending are unique to this vintage handwoven textile.
