A stunning and highly collectible antique Japanese Boro Fisherman's Coat. This coat is made entirely of indigo dyed cotton scraps patched together, layer after layer, over multiple generations. Intricate sashiko (traditional hand stitching or quilting) covers every inch of this coat, securing the cotton layers together and creating a piece of art. Good condition for age A few small holes and light stain on back 46.5" x 46.5" (length, width) Circa late 1800s All wear, marks or mending are unique to this antique handwoven textile.
