DH020 11" Black and Red "Portal" Platter

This is a very fine 11" "Portal" platter by Daphne. Using a technique similar to batik or wax-resist, hot wax is applied to the first layer of glaze with a brush. Then the second layer of red glaze is applied over the black which when fired allows for a blending of the black and red glazes to create a finish that is amazing in detail. All of the round platters are easily hung on the wall without a need for a stand, hanger or device. Of course you can add one of our plate stands for presentation on a shelf, hutch or sideboard.  Platter makes a beautiful serving presentation piece for food.
