Object 54: kuiper belt the kuiper belt is a circumstellar disc containing many small body objects from when the solar system formed. located in the outer solar system, it is similar to the asteroid belt but 20-200 times more massive and 20 times larger. home to the dwarf planets including the largest pluto, this ring contains objects composed mainly of icey volatiles rather then rock like the asteroid belt. there are 1000s of kuiper belt objects, known as KBO's.
