Early 20th Century Three Stone OMC Diamond Ring
A beautiful early-twentieth-century engagement ring, modeled in platinum, whose primary gem is a 1.3 carat old mine cut diamond (H/I, VS1). This beautiful hand-cut diamond has a crisp "star-like" faceting pattern that creates a kaleidoscope effect in the face of the stone; it has the small table, steep crown facets, and open culet that distinguish this beloved old cut. This primary diamond is held in a floating bezel, where it is flanked by a pair of smaller, "chunky" old mine cut diamonds. Further old cut diamonds are bead-set alongside this supporting pair, where they add sparkle to the ring face. This softly-bombe, hand-pierced setting is full of movement and texture— curving sections of cutwork decor (laurel branches) decorate the ring's gallery, along with a series of small precise circles.
