Earthy Mid 20th Century Variscite Ring with Rope Decor in 14k Gold

A substantially-made, mid 20th century ring, modeled in 14k yellow gold, set with a lovely, earthy-green, Variscite specimen. This bezel-set cabochon looks like the rare and beloved material that used to come from the Damele mine— the gem's pooling figuring is beautiful, giving the impression of a planet viewed from space! This ring is a classic form, with minimal decoration— its undergallery is slightly bulbous, and its shoulders and bezel are decorated, simply, with bands of rope-like, twisted wire. The ring's half-round shank tapers toward the base. This is soulful, grounding, and easy-wearing. We have left the Variscite gem in its original state of polish (slightly matte) to honor its time-worn aesthetic. If you prefer the gem re-polished, please inquire.
