An Art Deco era engagement ring, hand-fabricated in platinum, whose primary gem is a vibrant, 1.13 carat old European cut diamond (H/I, VS2). This antique diamond is beautifully cut, with a small table and an open culet that reflects repeatedly in the stone's steep crown facets! It is held aloft in four tab-style prongs, where it is surrounded by myriad delicate, hand-pierced details. The graduating, openwork, sash-like motif that decorates the ring's shoulders transitions into a tighter, scalloped, fish-scale pattern in the ring's gallery, where we also find pairs of triangular, open-work spirals. These pierced elements give the ring a very light, airy appearance, and they are accented with small old cut diamonds that add sparkle to the composition.
