Edwardian Sapphire & OMC Diamond Panel Ring
An elegant Edwardian era panel ring, modeled in 14k rosy yellow gold, with a platinum top. The ring face features a medium blue, natural Ceylon sapphire (oval), which is haloed by a pair of delicate, octagonal, diamond-set surrounds. This double surround appears to "float," thanks to its delicate two-piece construction, and the thin negative space left between the haloes' milgrained edges. The ring's openwork under-gallery is carefully hand-pierced with a scalloped pattern of diamonds and tears. Its carved shank is three-tined at the shoulder, where it is graved with a pair of deep lines that sweep into a taper. Marked 14k for purity, and with a series of light numbers that may be a design number, or a meaningful date. We love the many soulful little old mine cut diamonds sparkling here, and the ring's presence which is bold and delicate.
