Through its sensitive ground microphone, leak noises can be heard via direct connection to a pipeline as well as on the ground surface. The louder the noise, the closer you are to the leak. The noise level is displayed on the screen numerically and can be graphed to help you to locate leaks quickly and with confidence. Filter out unwanted noise Are your leak locations in areas with high background noise? The Aqua Trac amplifier design includes three pre-set frequency filters and an unlimited number of adjustable frequency filters. This allows the operator to screen out the hum from traffic, transformers, power lines, and other background noises. The headphones are equipped with noise isolating features that allow the user to block outside noises. Identify which line is leaking The microphone has attachment points for contact rods and magnets. These can be used to make a direct attachment to pipelines at valves, hydrants, and exposed pipe walls. Using these attachments, operators can identify which lines on a system have leaks. Then pinpoint the leak Once the leaking pipelines have been identified, the microphone attachments can be removed. The microphone can then be moved along the ground surface above the leaking pipe, listening to the sound of the leak. The metered screen allows operators to quantify the level of leak noise: the louder the sound, the closer the leak. The Aqua Trac is built TOUGH. You work hard.
