Christina Gruner Veltliner 2023

Certified organic since 2021, Christina Netzl's Gruner Veltliner emerges from the cooler Holzweg vineyard in Carnuntum, where red gravel and loess soils meet chilled Danube winds. This unique terroir, with iron-rich red gravel, imparts minerality and Gruner's signature white pepper character. Hand-harvested grapes undergo whole-bunch pressing before spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel, where cold cellar temperatures ensure a long, slow ferment preserving aromatic intensity and fizzy acidity. The wine ages on lees for enhanced complexity before bottling unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur addition, reflecting Christina's natural winemaking philosophy developed over a decade of experimentation with ancient techniques.
