Close Sisters - Red

Engraved red doors welcome sisters and friends.  These are the doors of close sisters who live just steps away.  Black wrought iron adorns the front window, and the door is surrounded by a hand painted brick façade. Similar sisters, but each unique. There are 3 in this series. In America a red front door holds the historical significance of meaning people are welcome at the homes that host a painted door. Travelers were welcome to rest and have a meal, and during the Civil War in the Underground Railroad, runaway slaves would also see a red door as a sign of a safe house.
