Hollyhock comes from the mallow family. I have a variety of dried flower buds that I have harvested from organic sources. I use it for direct dyeing on silk, cotton and wool. It can also be processed to use for immersion dye as well. The colors yield from dark purples to yellow. I am packaging a variety of colors that tend to be heavy in the pink and purple colors. You will need a mordant when immersion dyeing but in my experience the colors will vary for direct dye techniques. Why not try them all?One ounce is about 2 cups of flowersThis will direct dye several yards of fabric
