This wrasse is known for its active foraging, spending the day exploring live rock and sand in search of small invertebrates. It is reef safe and rarely bothers corals or ornamental inverts, making it a great choice for most reef setups. African Leopard Wrasses do best with other peaceful tank mates and may become stressed if kept with aggressive species. Like all Leopard Wrasses, this is a more difficult species that not only requires a deep sandbed for natural burrowing, but is in general a more sensitive species. Ideally, it’s best to introduce and establish any Leopard Wrasses first before introducing more boisterous and larger fish to give the best chances of success.
