The afterbath is the serendipitous party that happens in the dye pot after the planned colorway party is over. Afterbaths are sometimes bold, sometimes mellow, sometimes quirky, but always unpredictable. When you join, each month you’ll receive a skein of yarn in a mystery colorway that is dyed in an afterbath, (also known as an exhaust bath, but who wants to join the exhaust bath club?)  These colors are dyed using a technique that helps avoid waste, using up leftover dye in the pot after an initial round of dyeing by dying in a previously used dye bath without adding any new dye. Sometimes, one dye bath can be used for multiple rounds of afterbaths, yielding progressively lighter color each time.
