This product has a low wattage density, which usually keeps the temperature below 95 degrees Fahrenheit, which is safe for reptiles. However, room temperature can affect this, so we always recommend you test the temps with a thermostat before using with your reptile. Ultratherm Vivarium Heaters come assembled and  are ready to plug in right out of the package. It's best to put the heating pad under the enclosure, so it's not easily accessible to rodents, moisture, etc. You can attach the mat using different types of tape like duct tape or packing tape, or just place it under the tank without taping it down. If you do use tape, a few small pieces of duct tape should do the trick. Using tape also allows you to remove the pad later if you need to and move it to a different Kage. ***Please note that these heaters have a unique, double
