Anointed One

Anointed: to consecrate or make sacred in a ceremony that includes the token applying of oil...⁠ “While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table. When the disciples saw this, they were indignant⁠.  And Jesus said,⁠ Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial" - Matt 26:10-12⁠ I love the quiet, heavy mood of this image. How the drips mimic oil, and how He carried on with kindness and love, knowing the darkness that was coming.⁠
