J. Vignier 2013 Grand Cru Brut ‘Les Longues Verges’
Tech Variety: 100% Chardonnay Location: Côte des Blancs Alcohol: 12% Tasting Notes Light golden color with young lively mousse. Nutty aromas of melted butter, yellow fruit, citrus and vanilla. Medium-bodied with a creamy texture, bright freshness and fruit and a lengthy finish. Winemaking Vinified and aged in stainless steel and spends a minimum of 5 years aging in bottle prior to disgorgement. Vineyard This parcel is unique because it straddles the two Grand Cru villages of Cramant and Chouilly and is Certified Sustainable by Socofret. Vignier’s holdings are now in the Grand Cru Villages of Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry, as well as some parcels in the Côte de Sézanne. Nathalie first worked as an insurance adjuster for wineries in Burgundy and Champagne and was called home to take over the estate by her father. She is slowly aligning the estate to her philosophy: higher ripeness, a return of oak to the cellar and no use of herbicides or pesticides.
