Love You Honey Torchon
The "Love You Honey" Torchon, the very day this torchon contest painting arrived with a handwritten note about the reason for entering our contest; we all stopped what we were doing. We first read the note, then looked at her painting. The embroidery saying, "love you honey" was what her "Mama" always said to her. At the time of our contest, this artist had just lost her "Mama". She was the woman who had introduced her to rise. They had all of their meaningful and intimate times here over the years. This was THEIR PLACE. When she passed away, she had left her Granddaughter her beloved collection of 29 torchons that she had personally picked out over the years. When she saw the post of our contest, she felt compelled to enter in memory of her beloved "Mama". We saw her work and among all of you who voted, we knew she had won. Well done, Aly.
