Product Details The rug is the gold standard of handmade rug production. The pile is wool, incredibly thick and soft, and finished with hand-carved sculpturing of design elements for dramatic effect. Each of these rugs is created by skilled artisans who use centuries old techniques that are largely unchanged over many generations. While all of the rugs within a collection will feature the same colors and designs, the nature of handmade rugs is such that each piece can have subtle differences which make them, literally, “one of a kind.” This is a unique feature of handmade carpets. These differences range from slight color variations to subtle differences in design and “scale” of the rug. These differences can be due to the hand knotting and yarn dyeing processes.
