Deschutes Picture Jasper is a rare variety of picture jasper — an opaque, banded form of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz) prized for its scenic, landscape-like patterns. It was originally mined just east of Biggs Junction, along Oregon’s Deschutes River. The deposit site is now within a state park, and most of it lies beneath a highway—so it’s essentially no longer available. It’s considered increasingly scarce and highly collectible. The stone takes an excellent polish and is durable (Mohs hardness ~7) (Description from ChatGPT, mostly from Barlow Gems) This slab measures 80 x 75 x 8 mm and weighs 79.6 g. It is shown wet and dry in the images.  https://youtube.com/shorts/SmmzebVPRnI?si=TmIXIUS3XRal9s-z
