Ron Vaughn Butterfly Slot Concert Tambourine: a concert tambourine made for very smooth shake rolls.  The jingle slots in this solid maple shell are flared at the corners, (see close-up image), allowing the jingles to move very freely without being more restricted in the jingle slots as in a more usual concert tambourine.This freedom of this jingle movement creates very smooth, rich, non-rhythmic shake rolls.In performance contrast, this is not an instrument for well defined rhythmic articulation, just really beautiful, shake rolls. This model, Ron Vaughn RV-4720.HB02.Cng, has hammered German Silver jingles over Hammered Brass jingles for a very 'classic', potentially higher-volume sounding, (depending on the performer's use), concert tambourine.
