Her distinct serrated leaves and bright red berries make her recognizable throughout this coastal mountain landscape. When it comes to extracting color, toyon can give a variety of hues based on the extraction method. We have been able to use her bark, leaves and berries to get colors of cream, peachy-orange, and various shades of pink. Beach Coreopsis grows vibrantly alongside the coastal cliff sides. She debuts her yellow blooms starting in February and abruptly ending in March. Her sweet fragrance will lure you in as you’re walking down the cliffs to the beaches of Malibu.
