1930's Schiller Baby Grand Piano Bookshelf
About 10 years ago we bought this piano from our church where it was in service for several decades. Over the past 10 years my kids have enjoyed learning to play on it. Earlier this year our piano tuner informed us that it was at a point where it would no longer stay in tune. We were reluctant to just throw it in to a junk pile. So we tried to donate/give it away without success. I then began a long process to reimagine it in to something useful and give it new life as a bookshelf. This revitalized piano bookshelf has an exterior stained in a semi-gloss dark walnut. The backing is ship lap also stained in semi-gloss dark walnut. The shelves, cut and trimmed from the lid of the piano and are painted a shade of black called "Inkwell" using Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel with satin finish. The interior is trimmed with LED strip lighting (remote included). The original rustic keyboard is secured in place and the hammers enclosed under a decorative black aluminum grill. The
