"Final Flight" Original Oil Painting

I've painted a similar flushing pheasant pose on a previous Outdoor Life cover where the dog was the hero and the bird was a supporting character. For this one, I wanted to focus on the rooster to create an in-your-face flushing scene that I've never seen depicted before. I added the hunter in the background as an extra detail to help tell the story. This painting was selected as the 2022 Pheasants Forever Print of the Year.
