"Master of Ceremonies" Original Oil Painting
I met a buyer several years ago that I’ve gotten to become friends with. I admire his life and his business, and really appreciate the fact that he buys my work. A year ago he invited me on a Merriam’s turkey hunt in Oregon, and the scenery out there was amazing. It was high desert, nothing like I’d pictured in my mind. The place was known for great elk hunting, and during one of our calling sessions trying to locate a gobbler in a long, rocky canyon, I turned back toward the sunrise and saw a perfect scene for this elk painting. Back in my studio, I painted this bugling bull elk right where I wanted him, confronting a potential rival as his cows amble up the rocky bank in the distance. Chris has plenty of his own fond memories of elk hunting on this ranch, and bought this piece to add to his collection.
