Tom Crestodina is an Alaska fisherman who began making cutaway drawings in 2011 to connect with his young son Franio while he was at sea. "When I went back to fishing for the first time after my son was born, I missed my family so much it was like physical pain. Any father who has been to sea knows that feeling. Making these drawings was my way of dealing with it, and reaching out to my little boy." Alaska Marine Highway Ship: This is a drawing of the interior of the lovely M/V Malaspina. It was built in 1963 as one of the first Alaska marine highway ships connecting together the Island and coastal communities of Alaska and providing passenger and vehicle links to the lower 48 states through the Ferry terminal in Bellingham, Washington. There are over fifty people of all ages included in this drawing, including passengers, deck crew, stewards, pursers, helmspeople, officers, and a few of their dogs.
