Wines of Lake County & The Sierra

Lake County and The Sierra is a workshop that acquaints students with the distinctive Lake County region from the high altitude vineyards above one of America’s oldest geothermal lakes to the first single winery AVA. Next we travel the roads of the 49ers to the multitude of counties in the Sierra Foothills. Uncover the various concentrations of wineries and determine the importance of the soil, elevation, climate and grape varieties grown. This workshop is part of the California Wine Appellation Specialist® program. As part of this workshop, you'll taste 6-8 wines related to the curriculum. Want to learn more about California wine now?
