American Bison Bolo Tie

This bison was constructed of two sheets of pure .925 sterling silver. The 3 dimension of the bison is hard to capture with a photo, but it is quite exquisite!  The bolo slide is 1.50 inches in diameter and the leather cord is 38 inches in length. I created a unique shape on the edges of the piece.  The black leather cord slides through rings on the back that I created.  I created the sterling silver tips by hand.  This is created using traditional metal smithing techniques of soldering with a torch. I use various tools which are unique to my studio leaving their own unique marks--that's what makes handmade.  It's marked .925 and has my initials Bolo ties are a classic representation of Western jewelry, particularly the American Southwest.
