If you follow my artwork, then you know that I have an unfortunate knack for visiting cities when it rains. My trip to New York City late last year was no exception. It rained. A. Lot. I ruined my supposedly "water-proof" shoes splashing through the deep puddles and I also learned that saturated pants pack quite a bit of extra weight, but my exertion was well worth it when I chanced upon this moment along 9th Avenue in Midtown. The bold colors and shapes framed this woman beautifully, and I was smitten with this subject immediately.
