Progestan is a micronized progesterone supplement used to support the luteal phase in women undergoing fertility treatments, including in vitro fertilization (IVF), intrauterine insemination (IUI), or ovulation induction. Progesterone is a natural hormone essential for preparing the endometrium (uterine lining) for embryo implantation and maintaining early pregnancy. During fertility treatment cycles, the body’s natural progesterone production may be insufficient, especially after ovarian stimulation or egg retrieval, making supplementation necessary to increase the chances of successful implantation and reduce the risk of early pregnancy loss.
