 These listing is for 2 100% handmade Hickory Tanbo Sticks. The Ni Tanbo are also known as Kali Sticks, Escrima Sticks or short sticks and are used as a training weapon in the self defense arts. This is an upgrade from common Rattan sticks. The length on these sticks is 22" Each has a diameter of 1,1/4" inch. These sticks are laminated which imporves strength and straightness.  The materials consist of Hickory which is the hardest available North American wood. This wood is cherished for its impact qualities. These sticks are recommended for someone who wants maximum resistance during technique and who wants to build up muscles using fully functional kali sticks.  These sticks are best used for weight training and wrist strengthening. Hickory can come in lighter tan sapwood colors, light brown or darker brown heartwood, or sometimes a mixture of both dark and light on the same stick called 'calico hickory'. These variations are aesthetic only and do not affect the integrity of the wood
