Hickory Bo Staff 1,1/4" 78" Tapered. Medium Weight. Extra Long

 This is a 78" extra long tapered handmade Hickory Wooden Bo Staff. The Bo Staff is a traditional Okinawan training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts such as karate or Aikido. This particular staff is 1.25" in diameter at the center portion. They are tapered to approximately 1" at the tips. As the tapered version varies thickness towards the ends, this allows for more speed and maneuverability in kata and technique. I recommend for kobudo and contact as their weight thickness, maneuverability and material make these the perfect companion for such dojo uses. However, they are also ideal for home and practice use. This is the standard heavy duty Bo size which I recommend for contact training in dojos.  Due to the tapering, I do not suggest these staffs or any staffs that are tapered for hiking purposes.
