ETERNA-MATIC Watch Co. - "First gents automatic-family with ball-bearing rotor". Eterna-Matic movement, one of a number of innovations by Eterna, was developed in 1948 as an improved self-winding mechanism using five strategically placed ball bearings in order to reduce friction and resistance on the oscillating weight that wound the watch.
