Watch Overview This is a distinguished Hamilton railroad pocket watch, dated from 1943. It is a high-quality mechanical pocket watch powered by the Hamilton’s Grade 992B manual-winding movement, model 5 with 21 jewels, lever setting, a small seconds subdial and adjusted to temperature and 6 positions. Made in U.S.A. The Hamilton grade 992B was introduced in 1940 and produced until 1969 when the market had moved away from pocket watches to wristwatches. The Hamilton 992B is a successor of the 992E (992 Elinvar hairspring, made from 1931-1941) which is a successor of the Hamilton 992 (made from 1903-1930). It has an openface design, original white enamel dial featuring black Arabic numerals, a railroad-style minute track, large blue steel hands and a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock.
