02: Diamond Eye Signet, vortex
The windows to the soul, a symbol of protection, vigilance, often connected to divinity or higher powers- the motif of the eye has been used by cultures throughout time. Signet rings were used as early as 3500 BCE, with symbols representing the family and the individual owner of the ring in intaglio, used for stamping important documents. The "vortex" eye signet variation features hand-applied colorful enamel, spiraling around the diamond and drawing your eye into the center. The symbolism of the spiral is another motif we connect to: representing expansion and growth, the connection between spiritual and physical, the balance of creation and destruction. Each ring is made in 14k gold and set with a 2.8 mm reclaimed diamond, approx. 0.08 carats. Ring face measures approx. 15 mm x 5 mm, with a band that tapers to 2.2 mm in the back.
