The chocolate pops here on the spicier side, dry like a high cocoa content chocolate bar rather than a creamy, chalky milk chocolate or something. Rich on the palate, big savory combination of spice and sweet: hefty oak, great rye spice, a touch of black pepper and ginger comes together with pleasant bitter character, cocoa and espresso popping on the palate. Long finish, rye spice, oak, black pepper and cocoa continue on the finish. The cocoa reminds me of Woodford's chocolate bitters and this is a rye for a manhattan if I've ever seen one.
